AFFILIATIONS









MISSION
- To further the interest and welfare of all California Interscholastic Federation Tennis (CIF) in the public and private schools of California
- To mentor, foster, support, train and educate California High School Coaches
- To act in an advisory capacity to all CIF’s Tennis Legislative Councils and Tennis Committees and help coaches understand CIF rules and regulations
- To recommend to all the CIF Tennis Council and Tennis Committees changes which could benefit interscholastic tennis in California
- To provide professional improvement of tennis coaches in California
- To hold coaches training sessions and a yearly convention, establish a useful California High School Tennis Coaches Web Site, have weekly Top Twenty-Five Team rankings in each Division and establish year round fund raising activities to help individual high school tennis team budgets
- Better publicize high school tennis teams, players, coaches and results
THE NUMBERS
There are 1,500 high schools in California with 60% playing tennis (950 schools). 30% have a head coach for boys and a separate head coach for girls and 40% have one head coach for both. That comes to 570 single head and 380 dual head coaches (950 total). Add Assistant, JV, and Frosh/Soph Coaches, for a total of 1,500 coaches. There are 28,000 varsity and 14,000 JV and/or Frosh/Soph players.
